It’s All Gone Pete Tong ist ein Film aus dem Jahre 2004 und handelt vom fiktiven Charakter des DJs Frankie Wilde. Einst galt er als der Star unter den Discjockeys, er lebte ein Leben in Saus und Braus, bis er eines Tages in einem Haus in Ibiza von einem Schicksalsschlag getroffen wurde: Er verlor sein Gehör auf einem Ohr! Dadurch stürzte er in eine tiefe Krise, denn er konnte seinen Beruf nicht mehr richtig ausüben. Dieser Dj hier ist nicht fiktiv:
Mit dem kostenlosen AIMP2-Player auf dem PC kommt gute Musik richtig zur Geltung. Dieser Mediaplayer spielt von gängigen Audio-Dateien bis zu normalen Audio-CDs alle typischen Formate ab. Um das beste aus der jeweiligen Audio-Quelle zu holen, liefert AIMP2 einen Equalizer mit unterschiedlichen voreingestellten Profilen mit.
Zahlreiche Detailfunktionen sorgen während der Wiedergabe für zusätzlichen Genuss: Unter anderem stimmt AIMP2 automatisch die Lautstärke unterschiedlicher Songs aufeinander ab, sorgt für weiche Übergänge zwischen den einzelnen Titeln und bietet alle gängigen Wiedergabeoptionen – vom Zufallsmodus über Wiedergabelisten bis zur Wiederholung. Ein Audio-Konverter, der direkte Zugriff auf Titelinformationen der verschiedenen Musikdatenbanken im Internet sowie eine Sleep-Funktion, die den PC nach einer vorgegebenen Zeit automatisch herunterfährt, runden diesen Audio-Player ab.
AIMP2 bringt im Paket noch einige Tools und Features mit – so zum Beispiel einen CD-Grabber und auch einen Tag-Editor. Radio-Streams können abgespielt und aufgezeichnet werden. Mit dem integrierten “Sound Recorder” können Mitschnitte angefertigt werden.
Fazit: Eine kostenlose „Winamp“-Alternative!
Zusätzlich bringt AIMP Classic eine Funktion mit, die zum zeitgesteuerten Herunterfahren des Rechners oder Schließen der Abspiel-Software genutzt werden kann. Zur Feature-Liste gehören zudem Werkzeuge zum konvertieren von Musikstücken in verschiedene Formate und selbst einen Tag-Editor haben die Entwickler mit ins Paket eingebunden.
Wer dann noch eine schöne Visualisierung sucht, denn die eingebauten Visualisierer sind ein schlechter Scherz und das Programm kann leider keine Winamp-Plugins laden sollte sich mal Milkdrop ansehen.
Das AIMP2 Mega Pack mit jeder Menge Skins und Milkdrop 2 kann man jedenfalls nur fragwürdig legal und etwas verschämt von russischen Servern ziehen. Eine etwas lästige Eigenschaft der Winamp Plugin Loaders für AIMP2 ist, dass er das zuletzt geladene Plugin beim Playerstart wieder lädt und startet, auch wenn es zuletzt gar nicht gestartet war.
“Planetwalker” erzählt die Lebensgeschichte von John Francis, der, nachdem er einen Zusammenstoß zweier Öltanker beobachtet hat, ein Schweigegelübde abgelegt und 18 Jahre lang nichts gesprochen hat. Außerdem ist Francis per Pedes quer durch die USA gewandert, weil er so gegen die Verschwendung von Öl demonstrieren wollte.

Inhalt:
Der Film ist eine Metapher über die jüngste Geschichte, über Ängste und das Vergessen. Ein Zug mit mehr als dreißig Fahrgästen verschwindet im U-Bahnnetz von Buenos Aires. Eine beängstigende Suchaktion beginnt, um das unerklärliche Verschwinden aufzuklären. Mit der Untersuchung wird ein junger Topologe beauftragt, der nach und nach Karten und technische Daten zusammenträgt. Den Aufenthaltsort des alten Wissenschaftlers, der die komplizierte Anlage des U-Bahnnetzes entworfen hat, kann er nicht ausfindig machen. Dann aber erhält er unerwartet Hinweise von einem kleinen Mädchen. Doch alles scheint sinnlos. Erst ein Zufall, der ihn beinahe das Leben kostet, bringt die überraschende Lösung.
Die Geschichte von Michael Thomas und den sieben Engelwesen
In dieser faszinierenden Parabel wird die Geschichte von Michael Thomas erzählt, einem scheinbar gewöhnlichen Mann, der in Minnesota geboren wurde und nun in Los Angeles arbeitet. Er stellt den Prototyp des normalen – und unzufriedenen – Amerikaners dar. Nach einem Überfall, der ihn in Todesgefahr bringt, wird Michael von einem weisen Engel besucht und gefragt, was er sich in Wahrheit vom Leben wünscht. Michael antwortet, dass er eigentlich NACH HAUSE gehen möchte! Um sein endgültiges Ziel zu erreichen, muss Michael zunächst eine Reihe von Abenteuern und Prüfungen in einem erstaunlichen Land voll von wunderbaren Engelwesen, und einer finsteren Kreature bestehen. Michaels Suche ist ergreifend, humorvoll, faszinierend und spannend bis zum Schluss.
Diese Parabel von Lee Carroll hat mich persönlich wirklich auf’s tiefste berührt.
Es ist die Geschichte von uns allen die wir Suchende auf dem Weg nach Hause sind.
